German language

There really aren’t that man German language issues while studying in Vienna. Weird, I know. Most viennese speak english pretty well. That makes getting around a lot easier. Fortunately the OBB,which is the train station, speaks english, because without it the weekend excursions would have been very difficult. So, you can still go on the study abroad trip to Vienna no matter how well you speak German.

Any anecdotes to share about your experience living with a host family? Yes, they always close the doors and turn out the lights, but is there anything else that has touched you, annoyed you, helped you understand the *Viennese* and/or culture?
