Department of Theatre offering course in Ballet and Musical Theatre Dance

The Department of Theatre will have a course in Ballet and Musical Theatre Dance (THEA 2840) at the Telfair Peet Theatre Dance Studio during the second mini-semester June 3-Aug. 4, Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Participants will get three credit hours; no prerequisite is required. The instructor will be Judith Nelson, associate professor of theatre. She has been a professional dancer, choreographer, actor and teacher for more than 25 years, working in musical theatre and dance companies in New York, Los Angeles and around the U.S. and Europe. “Little Shop of Horrors” playing at Telfair Peet Theatre

The play, "Little Shop of Horrors," will continue at the Telfair Peet Theatre April 15-19. Audrey II, the infamous bloodthirsty plant, pays a visit to the Auburn University theatre in this spring production. The popular rock musical is based on the 1960 Roger Corman cult movie of the same name. The musical boasts music by Alan Menken and lyrics and the book by Howard Ashman, the duo who created other memorable characters including Ariel in "The Little Mermaid" and Belle in "Beauty and the Beast."
