Frank Warren, founder of PostSecret.com, will speak on Monday, Feb. 8. Tickets are available with a current student ID thru Feb. 5 for $1 at Foy Information Desk in the Student Center.

Enjoy your favorite coffee beverage while listening to performances by fellow students.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. A costume contest will begin at 6:45 p.m.

• University Program Council presents the film “Public Enemies” on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. in Haley 2370.

• UPC's second Late Night Event of the semester, "Tiger Nights Hits The Deck," will be on Friday, Nov. 6, from 7 p.m. to midnight. This pirate themed event will feature free food and activities such as a live DJ, a treasure hunt with cash prizes, inflatables and more.

• UPC's second Open Mic Night of the semester will be held on Monday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Auburn University Student Center room 2225. Come share your talents or listen to fellow students as they perform their songs, tell jokes or read poetry. Snacks will be served. Feel free to bring your instruments.

• Compete to be the “Last Comic Standing” at the event on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. Students who are interested in competing can come fill out an application in the UPC Suite 3130 located in the Student Center.  Applications are due Thursday, Nov. 5.

UPC presents ‘The Halloween Carnival’

upc_logoThe University Program Council will be hosting “The Halloween Carnival” on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The carnival will take place on Cater Lawn and will have many activities such as carnival booths and a children’s costume contest. There will be prizes for the best dressed child.

upc_logo•    Drive-In Movie at The Beach, corner of Donahue and Lem Morrison, featuring Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

•    Come share your talents at UPC's Open Mic Night on Wednesday, October 21 in 2222 and 2223 Student Center at 7 p.m. Come out and sing, read poetry, or tell jokes! Instruments are allowed!

•    Freestyle Competition Tuesday, Oct. 27 in the Auburn University Student Center ballroom at 7 p.m. The free-style contest is a competition of verbal skill. Competitors will rap against each other over an instrumental track for a period of 30 to 45 seconds and judges will choose a winner from each pair until only one remains. Sign-ups begin next week in UPC Suite 3130.

•    UPC wants your input. Come participate and enjoy free food during a focus group that aims to gather student ideas regarding the direction of UPC. Come have your opinion heard on Thursday, Oct. 29t in 2227 Student Center. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and discussion is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

aquaticsThe University Program Council presents Water Aerobics on Thursday, Sept. 3 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Auburn University Aquatics Center. Tickets for the comedy show, featuring Daniel Tosh, are also on sale. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Sept. 8, UPC will host a film showing of “Adventureland” at 7 p.m. in the Auburn University Student Center ballroom. Don’t miss events like the outdoor movie “I Love You, Man,” Trivia Night, Popsicles with President Gogue, Auburn University Idol and more. A block party on Cater Lawn on Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. gives all students the opportunity to meet new people and have fun during the chaos of starting a new semester. Students can also find out more about and possibly join block party sponsors: University Program Council (UPC), Student Alumni Association (SAA), the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, Auburn Ignited and the Freshman Year Experience Office. Look forward to free food like popcorn, cotton candy and funnel cakes, and the Ryan Kinder Band will be on hand for live entertainment.

UPC presents songwriting contest, Ben Harper concert

44251074UPC's songwriting contest will be held Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in 2222/2223 Student Center. Come hear your fellow classmates compete to win prizes. UPC presents Ben Harper and the Relentless Seven with opener Citizen Cope on the last day of classes, Wednesday, April 29. The concert will be held at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Come get your tickets now between the Student Center and Haley Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tickets are available until the day of the show. UPC presents comedy show, songwriting contest

tim_eric1Do you like to laugh? The University Program Council presents comedians Tim and Eric from Adult Swim with special guest Dan Mintz tonight in the Student Activities Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available on the Haley concourse from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. beside the Coca-Cola truck. UPC is also presenting a songwriting contest Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in Student Center 2222/2223. Applications are available now and are due Wednesday, April 22, by 4 p.m. to Student Center 3130. Participants will be competing for cash prizes: 1st place $150, 2nd place $100, and 3rd place $50.

SGA Hosts Tiger Feedback forum Tuesday

ddtoplinksbackground_sga1The Student Government Association will host its annual Tiger Feedback forum for students to address their concerns with university administrators Tuesday, March 31, at 5:15 p.m. in 113A Lowder Business Building. The purpose of the forum is to increase communication between Auburn students and administrators in order to promote campus awareness. All in the Auburn learning community are invited to ask questions of the panelists that will include Assistant Vice President of Facilities Dan King, Director of Housing Kim Trupp, Director of Parking & Transit Services David George, Assistant Provost for Undergraduate Studies Patricia Duffy, SGA President Jacob Watkins, as well as other top university officials. bgDo you want to get involved in a leadership role on campus? Do you like to plan events? Now is the time to take an active role with UPC. The University Program Council, better known as UPC, is Auburn University's student-led programming board. UPC consists of 11 committees that work hard to serve Auburn University by planning events that meet the programming interests of Auburn's students. These committees are responsible for organizing events such as free movies, comedians, major concerts, workshops, Tiger Nights, lectures and cultural performances. All events are planned and produced for students, by students. Applications are now available for the 2009-10 University Program Council. quantum_of_solace_posterUPC presents Dinner and a Movie Thursday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. “Quantum of Solace,” the latest Bond movie, will be shown in the Foy Hall Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and free food will be provided by Tiger Catering. Tickets are available in the UPC office until the event, while they last.

ucb_mainlogoThe University Program Council has a busy week this week and we invite you to join us. Upright Citizens Brigade, the hit improvisation comedy troupe, will be making a stop in Auburn as they tour the country. On Monday, Feb. 9, there will be two workshops hosted by UCB at 3 p.m. and at 7 p.m. in Student Center 2218 and 2227, respectively. Seats are limited. Sign up in Student Center 3130. The workshops are free to all students. After you attend the workshops, join UCB on stage at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in the Student Center ballroom, for a competition between workshop groups called "Improv Idol" judged by UCB members. Upright Citizens Brigade will host this competition and will follow with their own performance at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. and, as always, students are admitted for free. UPC will also be hosting "Dinner and Dancing" Friday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. Music will be provided by the Auburn Knights and there will be swing dance lessons before dinner is served at 6 p.m. This event will be held in the Foy Hall ballroom. Tickets are $5 for students and $15 for the general public. Food will be provided by Tiger Catering. Pick up your tickets anytime this week in Student Center 3130. Cocktail attire is requested of attendees. UPC is also co-sponsoring a special event for the basketball halftime show during the Arkansas game Feb. 11. UPC showing Pineapple Express Tuesday

This week UPC will be showing Pineapple Express, a comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. The movie will be held in Haley 2370 on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. and is free to all students.
