Debi LeGette Memorial 5k Walk/Run set for Feb. 7

runnersThe Debi LeGette Memorial 5k Walk/Run for the Cure will be held Feb. 7 in honor of Debi LeGette who died Aug. 24 of sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. LeGette’s daughter, Taylor, is an Auburn student and event chairperson. This event is a charity footrace, donating all proceeds to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. Race time is 10 a.m. and registration desks will open at 8 a.m. on Cater Lawn. Register early online for $15 or visit the registration desks on race day for $20 (see next week’s This Week @ AU for a registration link). The first 300 runners to register receive a race shirt. Starting and finishing in front of the library on Mell Street, the course will take you around campus. If you would like to offer a donation, you may do so on the registration Web site that will be listed next week.
