Library shifts 820,000 books to prepare for Learning Commons
The Auburn University Libraries is preparing to open the new Learning Commons in Draughon Library, in which Study Partners, the Miller Writing Center and the Office of Information Technology will join with the library to provide a full spectrum of unprecedented learning support. In preparation for this space, 50 library employees and student workers have moved 820,000 books in the last two months. After moving 13,000 books each day, the space on the second floor of Draughon Library is ready to accommodate the new workstations and resources of the Learning Commons which is scheduled to be completed during the Spring semester.
