You are right, the hospitality is great and has been for every game this season, but there is one area that I wish the Athletic Department or Auburn Security would take care of….people throwing stuff off the upper decks ramps onto the spectators below. I saw cigarette ashes and butts falling, drinks being thrown and just stuff being tossed off of the ramps. I know security can’t (or won’t) ask the people to go to their seats, but I know that can keep them from throwing trash and drinks onto the fans below. I just can’t imagine grown men and women, not students or kids, being so immature and tossing trash over the edge. I would hope that the Athletic Department or security would do something about this issue before someone gets seriously hurt.

    Have a great day

Really? Where are they on game day? The Auburn student section is no where near as classy as it was four years ago – and a large hunk Auburn students haven’t been acting much better on the road either. The level of vulgarity has increased ten fold and I’ve been stuck around people acting like jerks at every single game this season. Frankly, I am disappointed in how many of the Auburn students have been acting – having a good time and cutting up is one thing, but flipping off and cussing about the mic man every cheer, fans of opposing teams, spitting your dip right on the bleachers during the game, booing and cussing about people on your own team, and just being filthy should make someone feel embarrassed to be wearing orange and blue. Perhaps this article only pertains to the alumni, but it sure doesn’t take note of the students. The Auburn students are on the verge of being the worst acting fans in the SEC – that’s right, we’re right there with LSU.

    - An embarrassed Auburn student.

As a new AU parent, the only issue have with game day is the amount of alcohol that is all over campus, primarily current students, not alumni or other fans. It disturbs me to hear my daughter complain that everyone sitting around her during a game is drunk. I witnessed several students throwing their empty bottles into the landscaping on their way to the game. I don’t want to be a party pooper, but what happens on game day DOES say alot about the character of students. The only way I see it changing is for other students to shame those who aren’t behaving properly and make it cool to be sober on game day.

I think everyone on the Plains were very friendly to our group of Kentucky fans. Every where we went while in KY gear, people said welcome and enjoy your stay. Even after the game, people would say be careful traveling home. I think it says alot for the southern hospitality.

I, myself had a hard time at this game being a big KY fan because I have a daughter attending Auburn this year. I found myself singing the Auburn fight song at times when the band plays. The other KY fans would look at me strangely.

I also went to Knoxville to the AU-UT game. That time I was in AU attire. I loved the spirit all around and shouts of War Eagle as we passed other fans. The spirit at Auburn in AWESOME. I love your campus, the spirit, the cheers, the band, and I am grateful to say my daughter is so happy with her choice in attending Auburn University.

It is always gratifying to hear positive comments about The Loveliest Village. A couple of comments from an experienced alum. Years ago the chant lead by the cheerleaders as the oposing team enters the stadium was “Tiger Meat!” Much more affective than”boo”. Why not give it a try?

We traveled with the team to Knoxville. Great win1 A lasting impression was the Vol Band coming down to the Auburn fan section in the pregame performance and greeting us with “War Eagle” I thought it was a classy thing to do and made us feel welcome. We can always learn somthing new,

I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the Auburn campus last spring while making a campus visit with my daughter. We also were blown away with the friendliness of all the students we came into contact with, whether needing directions or just making casual conversation. This speaks volumes for the Auburn University.

A couple of weeks ago, I visited my daughter, now a proud Auburn Freshman, and was disappointed to see the empty cases of beer, to-go containers, and other various trash items strewn around the beautiful new Village. Auburn has a wonderful reputation for its school pride as well as the wholesomeness of its student body. The fact that there are students who can’t manage to pick their trash up off the ground is a sad reminder that a few bad apples can spoil the whole bunch.

My daughters have been know to shame others, even their own friends, for dropping trash. Someone needs to promote the preservation of Auburn’s beautiful campus before the bad blood spreads. Perhaps a new “Auburn Pride” campaign might be in order?
