Auburn MBA program ranks high among public universities in Forbes poll
The Auburn University MBA Program has been ranked 29th among the nation’s public institutions and 64th overall, according to a Forbes.com special report just released. The ranking measures best five-year “return on investment” for MBA graduates of the class of 2004. For this year’s survey, Forbes sent out 17,000 questionnaires to graduates of MBA programs around the world. To determine the five-year MBA gain, Forbes compared their earnings in their first five years out of business school to their opportunity cost (tuition, required fees and foregone compensation). Although the financial payback for all MBA graduates has slowed in recent years, the Auburn MBA continues to be a solid investment. According to the survey results, Auburn graduates had an average pre-MBA salary of $33,000, and that average rose to $87,000 five years after earning their MBA. The No. 1 school in the ranking was Stanford, and private universities accounted for the top eight places in the ranking. The top public MBA program on Forbes’ list was University of Virginia, ranked ninth.
