Liberal Arts’ teaching and learning award winners announced

headeraucla2The Promotion of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (PETL) Committee in the College of Liberal Arts has announced the recipients of the 2009 awards. These individuals are nominated by colleagues and supported by students and faculty as outstanding educators in the college. This year's recipients will be honored on April 10 at the college's Faculty Awards Ceremony. The awards ceremony begins at 4 p.m. and takes place in the auditorium of the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. This year's recipients include the Academy of Teaching and Outstanding Teachers, Michael Watkins of Philosophy and George Plasketes of Communication and Journalism. The Teaching Award in Humanities will be given to James Shelley of Philosophy. Cindy Bowling of Political Science will receive the Teaching Award in Communication Sciences and Social Sciences. The recipient of the Early Career Teaching Award is Kevin Roozen of English. Adrienne Wilson of Theatre will receive the award for Instructional Excellence and Christopher Howard of Psychology will receive the Graduate Teaching Assistant Award. Lastly, the Advising award will go to Lynn Lockrow of Theatre.
