Industrial and Graphic Design hosting top industrial designer
The Department of Industrial and Graphic Design will welcome a premiere industrial designer Tuesday, March 24. Paul Specht has practiced design for 60 years and holds 50 utility and design patents in fields ranging from microsurgery to industrial equipment. An impressive design career is only one element of Specht's experiences; the stories of his family are just as interesting and entertaining. His grandfather was a teamster in Brigadier General George Crook's relief column that came in following the Battle of the Little Bighorn, his father was a World War I pilot and friend of Eddie Rickenbacker, and Specht himself served in World War II with the 14th Armored Division in the European Theater of Operations from 1943-1945. The open lecture at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, will be held in 107 Wallace Center. For more information, contact Bret Smith at (334) 332-9920 or brethsmith@mindspring.com.
