Women’s Resource Center presents third annual Women’s Leadership Conference
Auburn University’s Women’s Resource Center will present the third annual Women’s Leadership Conference March 30-31. The conference’s theme is “Redefining Women: Celebrating Diversity, Finding Voice.” It begins March 30 with an awards banquet honoring distinguished Auburn alumnae, faculty members and students. Mary Ellen Mazey, Auburn Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, will give the keynote address. At the banquet, conference organizers will recognize Kathryn Thornton, Auburn graduate, former astronaut and current associate dean for Graduate Programs at the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, as the first recipient of the conference’s alumna award. The following day, March 31, includes speakers, panels and workshops on a variety of topics. Participants will gain knowledge and skills that will advance their leadership abilities, and they will have opportunities to network with others. Workshops at the conference include “How to Ask for Money: Cutting through the Red Tape,” “How to Grow a Money Tree: Tips for Financial Management,” “How to Climb Capitol Hill: Legislation in Women's Issues,” “How to Work It: Finding Creative Ways of Self-promotion,” “How to Act Out: Students Finding Voice for the Sustainable Movement” and “How to Walk a Tight Rope: Finding Balance for Work and Life.” The deadline for registration is Wednesday, March 25, at 4 p.m. and the fee is $25 for the kick-off dinner and $30 for both the kick-off dinner and one-day conference. Applications should be returned to the Women's Resource Center (Mary Martin 311). Good points?I would be aware that as anyone who really doesn’t write on blogs much (if truth be told, this can be my first put up), I don’t suppose the time period ‘lurker’ is very turning into to a non-posting reader. It’s now not your fault the least bit , but in all probability the blogosphere may just get a hold of a better, non-creepy title for the 90% people that revel in studying the content material .
