Sasnett Hall wins Auburn’s first Sustain-A-Bowl
The Office of Sustainability has announced Sasnett Hall as the winner of Auburn's first Sustain-A-Bowl competition. Over the course of February, the residence halls in the Quad and Hill competed to reduce their water, electricity and waste. Every hall rose to the challenge and reduced their water and electricity usage and increased their recycling versus trash. The total amount of electricity saved was 74,704 kW. In monetary terms that's $5,506. The total amount of water saved was 623,000 gallons, totaling $2,785. The residents of Sasnett were invited to lunch with President and Mrs. Jay Gogue in the president's executive suite in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday. Gogue presented them with the Sustain-A-Bowl trophy, and everyone present had a chance to win a bike and other sustainable prizes. Those participating in the play-at-home Sustain-A-Bowl can submit their February water and electricity bills to the Office of Sustainability, 200 Langdon Annex, Auburn University, Auburn, AL 36832. The winner will be announced at the beginning of April. For more information on the results, visit http://www.auburn.edu/sustainability/SAB.
