SGA Spring Elections debates, voting taking place this week

The Student Government Association will sponsor debates for SGA President, Vice President, Treasurer and Miss Auburn candidates running for office during Spring Elections tonight, Feb. 9, at 8 p.m. in the Student Center ballroom. Spirit points will be awarded for attending. Voting for SGA Spring Elections will take place Thursday, Feb. 12, from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. To vote, log onto AU Access (auaccess.auburn.edu) and click on the Campus Life tab. Elections are being held for SGA President, Vice President, Treasurer and Miss Auburn. In addition, SGA Senators and officers from each college will be elected. Students will also be asked to vote on a campus-wide referendum for a new student recreation and wellness center. Along with the traditional SGA Elections on Thursday, Feb. 12, juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to vote on candidates for the Final Lecture. The candidates for this year are Lewis Barker (Psychology), Steve Brown (Political Science), Kelly Jolley (Philosophy), John Saye (Education) and Lawrence Wit (Biological Sciences). The selected professor delivers a keynote address on a topic of their choice to the entire university community. The Final Lecture for this year is set for Thursday, April 9.
