Wheelchair basketball exhibition set for halftime of women’s game

cadairAuburn University's Program for Students with Disabilities will present a wheelchair basketball exhibition at halftime of the Auburn versus Ole Miss women's basketball game at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5. The teams will be Auburn students and Lakeshore Foundation players. Lakeshore Foundation is an organization from Birmingham that promotes independence for persons with physically disabling conditions and provides opportunities to pursue active, healthy lifestyles. The exhibition is being held to promote adaptive recreation and athletics on Auburn's campus. Only 11 universities in the United States have wheelchair athletic programs. Auburn's Program for Students with Disabilities, which provides accommodations for more 1,100 students on campus, is building support to become the 12th university.
