Hitchcock speaking for Discover Auburn series

hitchcockProfessor Emeritus Bert Hitchcock will present a lecture, "Dead or Alive: The Code Duello in East Alabama," at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the Special Collections and Archives Department of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library as part of the Discover Auburn series. Hitchcock is professor emeritus in English. He specializes in 19th century American literature and Southern literature, with additional interest in short story and nature writing. A reception will follow Hitchcock's program. Discover Auburn is a yearlong series that features programs on research, history and other topics of interest by Auburn faculty, staff and graduates. The series will continue on Feb. 18 with a lecture by Susana Morris titled "Bearing Witness: The Role of the Griot in Africana Literature."
