Town hall meeting relates election of Obama to King’s vision
A town hall meeting on the topic, "From Dr. King to Mr. President: The African-American Journey from Civil Rights to the White House," will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, 7-9 p.m., in 2222 Student Center. The discussion will feature Auburn University faculty guiding a dialogue on the significance of the election of President-elect Barack Obama in relation to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision for America. David Carter, associate professor of history, will be the moderator. The public is invited to the forum, which will explore the international, economic, social and cultural implications of the recent presidential election in conjunction with the observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Week activities at Auburn University.
