Healthy Marriage Initiative cosponsoring bridal expo
The Opelika-Auburn News and the Alabama Community Healthy Marriage Initiative will cosponsor the 2009 Bridal Expo on Sunday, Jan. 11, at the Lodge and Conference Center at The Marriott Grand National. Wedding professionals, such as photographers, caterers, jewelers and honeymoon travel specialists, will be available to assist brides and grooms. This year's expo will feature Scott Ketring, associate professor in the College of Human Sciences, discussing ways to "Keep Your Marriage Sizzling." Relationship expert Ami Landers will address communication tips for married couples and those preparing to marry. In the groom's lounge, grooms can discuss golf tips with golf expert Bob Boyle and can watch the sports event of the day on the wide screen TV. The expo will also feature door prizes and a fashion show. Admission is $8 at the door or $5 in advance. For more information, see this link. The Alabama Community Healthy Marriage Initiative is a partnership between Auburn University, the Alabama Children's Trust Fund, family resource centers, mental health centers, and other agencies that have joined together to build healthy relationships and stable marriages throughout Alabama.
