JetBlue executive speaking during Aviation program’s homecoming
A full weekend of homecoming activities has been planned for the annual reunion of Auburn's aviation program; the public is invited to join in the festivities. The weekend kicks off Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. in 125A Lowder Business Building as the Department of Aviation and Supply Chain Management welcomes Rob Maruster as the 2008 Aviation Management Distinguished Visitor in the College of Business. Maruster, JetBlue's senior vice president of customer services, is responsible for the successful delivery of the JetBlue experience and oversees the airports, in-flight, reservations, and system operations functions. He joined JetBlue in 2005 after a 12-year career with Delta Air Lines in a variety of increasingly responsible leadership positions in the carrier's marketing and customer service departments, including vice president of airport customer service at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. He is an Auburn graduate with a bachelor's degree in political science and has a master of business administration degree from Emory University. Reunion events continue Saturday, Nov. 8, with a tailgate in front of the Nichols ROTC Building beginning three hours prior to kickoff. Students, faculty and alumni are invited to stop by the reunion and bid on silent auction items, such as NFL football tickets and airline tickets to various destinations. Tailgate meal tickets may also be purchased at the gate. For more information, contact Dianne Townsend at 844-2342.
