80th annual Rosen-Hutsell ODK Cake Race is Wednesday
The 80th annual Rosen-Hutsell ODK Cake Race will be Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 3:30 p.m., starting at the Hutsell Track. Coach Wilbur Hutsell, one of Auburn's greatest track coaches, started the race in 1928 to discover possible track team recruits from the freshman class. This year, Omicron Delta Kappa extends an invitation to Auburn students, faculty and community members to participate in this longstanding Auburn homecoming tradition. As an extra incentive for student groups' participation, three spirit points will be awarded per participant. The first 20 men and women to cross the finish line will receive a cake and an official race T-shirt. A first place trophy will be presented to the top male and female finishers. Registration, with no entry fee, will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Hutsell Track. The course runs throughout campus and is approximately 2.5 miles long; you may walk or run. If severe weather occurs, the race will be postponed until Thursday, Nov. 6, at the same place and time. T-shirts will be $10. A proof will be out soon, but if you wish to order one please email hilyemk@auburn.edu.
