Rock for Life concert to benefit American Cancer Society
The Auburn University Marketing Association has planned an event for Tuesday, Oct. 14, called Rock for Life as a benefit for the American Cancer Society. It will be held at the Student Activities Center pavilion on Biggio Drive. April Cover, an alternative band from Samford University, will kick off the event at 5 p.m., followed by a jam band comprised of recent Auburn grads Danny and the Tanks, with Auburn's favorite Bonnaroo act, Hightide Blues, closing at 8 p.m. with a 90-minute set. Statistically, 120 Auburn students will be diagnosed with cancer this year, and almost every family will be affected by cancer at some point. Gena Ozier, president of the Auburn University Marketing Association this year, created this event in remembrance of her cousin Mary whose life was taken by cancer at the age of 16. This gave inspiration for the tag line of Rock for Life, "Everyone deserves a merry life." The cost of admission is $5. For more information, contact Christie Bradley at (251) 680-2681 or jcb0013auburn.edu.
