Auburn’s Tommy Tuberville vies for Coach of the Year

The Auburn Alumni Association is asking Auburn University fans around the globe to vote daily for head football coach Tommy Tuberville in the 2008 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year competition. The winning coach will be announced on national television in December. At stake is $20,000 in student scholarships and $50,000 in charitable gifts. Should Tuberville receive the most fan votes in the annual contest that pits university football coaches across the United States against each other, the alumni association will receive thousands of dollars in student scholarships, and Tuberville himself will be allowed to distribute even more money to the charitable and civic organizations of his choice. "We encourage anyone who loves Auburn to vote for Coach Tuberville," said Debbie Shaw, AU vice president for alumni affairs and executive director of the Auburn Alumni Association. "If he wins, so do our students." For more details and to vote, see www.coachoftheyear.com.

Are you out of your MIND? I was hoping that Coach Bob Petrino would be offered the Head Coaching job, AGAIN!! Especially, since he was in town last weekend and beat the stuffing out of TUB’s offensive Tigers.

Regardless of how good a coach he is, I don’t think he can even be a contender when he’s leading a team that may or may not be above .500 this year.

I love Auburn football as much as the next guy, but this is kinda like nominating Sarah Palin for…

    Um, never mind.
