FCC Commissioner to speak at Auburn on Friday
FCC Commissioner Deborah Taylor Tate will be on the Auburn University campus on Friday, Sept. 26. She will speak to Communication and Journalism students that morning and then will give a talk on Internet safety at 2 p.m. in room 2223 of the new student center that will be open to the public. The Auburn University Department of Communication and Journalism and AUPRCA will sponsor her visit. Tate has been an FCC Commissioner since January 2006 and was reappointed in June 2007 for a five-year term. Often referred to as the “Children’s Commissioner,” she is a leading voice on issues affecting families and children, and has been at the forefront of the movement to ensure that advances in communications technologies benefit all Americans.
