Strictly Business to close

After 11 years of serving the College of Business faculty, students and staff, Strictly Business, Lowder room 003, will close on Thursday, July 31. The closure is in response to changing market conditions, economics and requests by students to have all of their course materials available at the Haley Center Bookstore. As of August 1, all of the course materials required for College of Business students will be conveniently located in the AU Bookstore in Haley Center. The AU Bookstore will continue to offer free, next-day delivery on most office supply items. The Bookstore will provide test materials and snacks at both the Haley Center location and at our future satellite location in the new Student Center. The staff of Strictly Business extends their thanks to the campus community for their support these past 11 years.

I think this is a terrible thing. It was helpful to have them there. It had a constant stream of people in and out of it. Now if anyone forgets a blue book or scantron they will have to go to Haley to buy one. I’m said to see it go.

Wow, I wonder how many business students actually said they would rather go all the way to Haley for last minute supplies. That sounds like one big lie. What will they put in that space now? How does this serve to benefit the Auburn University College of Business students? Exactly it doesn’t! Instead it will more than likely become an office space for someone.

Yea any COB student knows that going to Haley is a pain and now scantrons and other materials are more than 10 mins round trip instead of about 30 secs. This is terrible.

I also think that this is a terrible thing. It doesn’t make sense to have to go all the way to Haley to buy anything! I personally had to walk to Haley form Lowder this morning before my 8am class to buy a scantron and I was very upset!!!
